Newsletter #002

My dear friends,

Mycelium is now two months and a few days old, and I’m very grateful for your support at this early stage of the project!

March, the first month, was all about experimentation and learning how the platform could evolve in the future. In April, we focused more on introducing new projects and explaining what Mycelium is and why I’m building it. Another important focus in April was UI/UX — simplifying navigation and structuring the materials more clearly.

New on Mycelium

  1. Diego Ferri joined the roster. Two of his releases are now available on Mycelium — Aynı su (album) and Onde EP.
  2. Scout Hansen launched her new project, Conversations in Analogue, with an interview featuring Lia K. The project aims to introduce Berlin underground artists to Mycelium readers.
  3. A lot of work has gone into improving the UI/UX. It’s now easier to navigate Mycelium, and there are dedicated “Artists” and “Releases” catalogues.
  4. Personal diaries from Scout and me — available exclusively to subscribers.
  5. Mycelium Radio has been tested and improved, and is now available to all paying subscribers.

What’s going to happen in May?

After receiving yet another round of funding rejections, it’s become clear that I need to focus more on growth and monetisation. Mycelium is becoming a full-time job, and in order to make it sustainable, I’ll need more subscribers.

So, if you enjoy Mycelium and know people who might connect with it too, please help spread the word!

Apart from that, I’m planning to introduce one new artist in May, and hopefully co-produce the podcast I originally planned for April. A few urgent matters got in the way, but I’m excited to finally move it forward.

Much love,

GSB
