Hello Mycelium supporters! The photo above is from my first artist profile in my “Conversations in Analog” (or “CiA”) series.
Little intro to me, since I’m new here! My name is Scout Hansen, and I’m a longtime friend and collaborator of Gene Sophia’s. Starting this month, I will share my CiA series here with some extra exclusive text from me and additional material from the featured artists.
For my first edition, I had the absolute honor to interview and photograph Lia K. She is a multimedia artist, whose primary media are installations, performance, analog photography, and short-form text.
Lia inspires me greatly because she has an authentic and effortlessly charming energy. Her style is distinct, and where many artists consciously or subconsciously tilt themselves toward mainstream acceptability, she remains true to herself in the purest form.
It’s very natural to work with her, and I am delighted to share with you the fruits of our first official collaboration – and happy to have set the bar so high for the next CiA features! Please enjoy, and let me know if there’s something that stuck with you, or perhaps something you’d like to see more of?
Here’s to a hopeful future, where artists’ lights never fade away.
Much love,
Scout
